As part of the extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors chaired by the Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, Rosseti's CEO Pavel Livinsky presented the key technologies and innovative solutions that will underlie a new level of the power industry efficiency and approaches to control of Russian grids.
Opening the meeting, Mr. Alexander Novak reminded that the Russian President Vladimir Putin focused on digitalization in economy, in particular in the power industry, in his Message to the Federal Assembly.
The power industry systems are to be digitalized country-wide. Using so-called distributed generation, we have to address the problems with the power supply to the remote territories. We will have to introduce new power generation, storage and transmission technologies", emphasized Russian President in his speech.
The report by Pavel Livinsky develops the grid digitalization concept earlier proposed by the company as the basis for the holding's new development strategy up to 2030.
Pavel Livinsky noted that the shift to a new technological efficiency level, which is proposed by Rosseti, is the opportunity to meet the challenges of the contemporary global power industry.
"The future is to be built today. The "stereotypes" in designing the power systems, which are based on instantaneous electricity generation and consumption, become outdated, recede in to the past, and proceeding from this, we have to take a new look at the development model of Russia's power industry," Pavel Livinsky stated.
According to Rosseti's CEO, digitalization will enable to achieve a whole new level in reliability, accessibility, efficiency and customer focus, without additional load on consumers. Digitalization will allow for boosting the company's shareholder value, reduce the connection time, computerize the consumer relations and offer new Internet of Energy services to them, curtail losses 30%.
The Board of Directors took note of the report by Pavel Livinsky and authorized Rosseti management, taking into account the proposals made, to modify and submit the company's Innovative Development Program to the Board by July 1, 2018.
