The head of PJSC "Rosseti" Oleg Budargin and the acting Governor of the Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin signed a cooperation agreement in the area of development of the regional energy complex. The agreement provides the interaction between powermen and the regional government in developing the investment potential, simplifying the technological connection procedure, modernization and development of the grid infrastructure.
"The first priority is to increase the reliability of power supply - as well as to update the network, to introduce the technology of "Smart grid". We agreed with the Governor to begin this work in two districts of the region", - said Oleg Budargin after signing the document.
He stressed that while creating the new networks, the equipment of domestic production including the Novgorod manufacturers will be applied. The company plans to develop the production of electrical equipment in the Novgorod region. In addition, "Rosseti" will support talented children of the region and will participate in the creation of an industrial park for kids in Veliky Novgorod.
Another problem, according to Oleg Budargin, is to satisfy the consumers’ demand for the minimal cost electricity: "This will provide an opportunity to attract new investors. This area has a huge potential. Our regional product, let's call it so – is to ensure electricity supply to residential construction developers regardless of the power. If the target is not just a capitalization of the land, we are ready to consider a free connection".
The acting Governor Andrey Nikitin noted that the agreement will allow to implement the important projects in the regional electricity sector.
"We'll do our best to work together in all areas, coordinating of activities with such an important partner opens up the great prospects for both sides. Now we have a complete understanding where we are going and how we will proceed", – said Andrei Nikitin.

Smart grids is a promising approach to the construction and operation of networks distribution that meet the requirements of energy-efficient and economic operation of the power system through coordinated control through the digital communication between elements of the grid. Smart grids are being implemented with the purpose of increase of power supply reliability, reduction of time for elimination of accidents, to reduce the undersupply of electric power and optimizing operating costs.
