ROSSETI present a personnel training and skills development project at CIGRÉ

Acting General Director of ROSSETI’s subsidiary the Ural Interregional Distribution Grid Company Yuri Lebedev shared the experience of creating a joint Russian and French Schneider Electric Training Centre in Yekaterinburg which began operations at the energy company’s facilities in 2011 and encompasses three laboratory classrooms and an exhibition hall with a total area of 120m2. The lecture halls and laboratories in the Ural Interregional Distribution Grid Company’s Schneider Electric Centre are equipped with modern audiovisual equipment, relay equipment and electric distribution equipment made by Schneider Electric.

Yuri Lebedev talked about the joint Training Centre’s professional retraining and skills development programs for specialists from the Ural Interregional Distribution Grid Company, other energy companies and production facilities from the Ural region who use Schneider Electric electronic equipment; the company is one of the global leaders in managing electrical energy.

“Together with our colleagues from Schneider Electric, we were able to create a modern training platform at the Ural Interregional Distribution Grid Company’s Training Centre. The new equipment allows us to improve the quality of education provided to the energy workers and, as a result, improve the management of the electricity networks and facilities", noted the head of the Ural Interregional Distribution Grid Company in his speech.

Yuri Lebedev also stated that the Ural Interregional Distribution Grid Company’s Training Centre that encompasses a number of Schneider Electric lecture halls is an entire educational complex which consists of two branches located in Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk, a comfortable hotel, a testing area for lifting machinery, a training bench substation and a testing area for distribution networks.

In his concluding remarks at the CIGRÉ International Council on Large Electric Systems, Yuri Lebedev noted that the Ural Interregional Distribution Grid Company plans to expand its cooperation with Schneider Electric in this area. The parties plan to ship new equipment and models to the Centre, continue to jointly improve the Centre’s educational programs until they are in line with the best international standards while also attracting additional students from the region’s production facilities.
