On June 6 a working meeting of General Director of IDGC of the North-West Alexander Kukhmay and Governor of the Vologda Region Oleg Kuvshinnikov took place in Vologda.
The parties discussed a series of relevant issues related to the situation in electric power industry and the pending structural changes in the electric power grid complex, “last mile” issues, centralization of investment programs and consolidation of joint actions in case of emergency situations occurrence within the Vologda Region territory.
Alexander Kukhmay told Oleg Kuvshinnikov of the decision taken by Head of the government of the Russian Federation on appropriateness of integration of state-owned grid assets into a united company and of the upcoming transfer of management from IDGC Holding to the Federal Grid Company (FGC). He noted that, “In spite of the coming reorganization, IDGC of the North-West will retain the joint-stock company status and will proceed with solution of their strategic tasks, the most critical of them being reliable and uninterrupted consumer electric power supply”.
Alexander Kukhmay mentioned centralization of IDGC of the North-West investment programs with FGC as a core task.
Oleg Kuvshinnikov admitted the existing problem of lack of grid companies’ investment programs synchronization. “From time to time it happens that FGC has constructed a facility but the investment program of IDGC of the North-West fails to stipulate expenses on construction and reconstruction of substation overhangs. The problem is to be solved,” he said.
The Governor is of the opinion that integration into a united grid company will enable solution of multiple issues in the electric power industry branch inclusive of the currently relevant “last mile” problem.
